Old Chair Makeover

I recieved this old vintage chair from my dad....it was passed down from his mother-in-law....to make a long story short, it's old, a little wobbly, and definately needing some TLC.

This is my first attempt at reuphulstering, I think it turned out pretty darn cute!  I'm sure you'll gasp but take in a deep breath, (pause), I don't have a staple gun, so I used the next best thing- hot glue!  And I don't care!  I'm keeping this little thing cause once again, I fell in love.  No one will know but me ;)

I distressed the turqoise to give it that warn, been there awhile look.  Were using this little chair as a prop for our family pictures on Thursday, I'm crossing my fingers that they turn out....it's suppose to be a chilling 21 degrees.....sigh.

{Give Thanks}

Just a friendly reminder to Give Thanks this holiday season!  I had these blocks in my basement for a year now, (one of those Super Saturday projects I never finsihed).  I saw them this morning and decided to give it a try.  I didn't remember the colors of paint you were 'supppose' to use, so I just rumaged up paint I already had....I do have some paint laying around!
One thing I am thankful for is of course, my family.  Yes, all six of 'em...one is missing from the photo.  Hopefully we'll get a 'complete' family photo this Thanksgiving!  Looking forward to spending time with family and sharing our blessings with others this week!  I hope your Thanksgivings are full of love and warmth.

Nine Drawer Dresser w/ Mirror

The Before..... Pardon the junk!     SOLD $150

And After.... I was not able to get a good picture of the whole dresser because of all the junk, (a.k.a. all my other projects), in my garage....argh!  But you get the idea.  This was done in a crisp white and distressed to complete the old vintage, victorian look.

Nine beautiful drawers provide plenty of storage.  The three drawers in the center are a little smaller to give  some contrast and visual interest.  Each drawer has a keyhole medallion.  Ah, so cute!

I love, love, love the decorative flower design....my brain is blank on what it's called.  Any input?  Whatever it's called, I love it!

Beautiful detailed claw feet, this dresser has it all!

The scalloped mirror is HUGE!  Sorry there is not a better picture of it, just blame my over-stuffed, dirty garage.  But please take my word for it, it's gor-ge-ous!!

Antique Sewing Table

I did this antique sewing table a light turgoise color, glazed it with a rich tobacco glaze, and distressed it to give it a 'been there awhile' look.  Once again, I'm in love!  This would be a great entry table, bedside table, or accent piece in your home.
SOLD $40
S

An up close look at the distressing.

I love the detailing of the dollup bottom.

And out pops out a very old sewing table.  How cool is that?  I don't know how old this is.   I don't think it works... I know nothing of sewing machines, (my friends can attest to that), but this one sure does look cool!

{Vintage Mirror w/ Dresser}

Okay, I promise to not put anymore furniture on here that's not for sale!  But this piece sold for $150 two days ago.....I had to put it on because I L-O-V-E-D it!  This piece went to a girls room, where it belongs!

I really cannot say how much I adored these ladder sides.  It is believed they did this design a hundred years ago or so to keep the wood from bowing out on the sides....I'm not 100% sure, but that's what I've been told.

This beveled mirror tils back and forth.  I also added some cute vintage glass knobs on the top two smaller drawers to add some more charm, as if it needed it!

Turqoise Chest

I have been a busy bee this summer finding, repairing, and painting these adorable vintage pieces.  Here are SOME of my pieces that I've already sold to give you an idea of how much paint I haven't been able to wash off my hands all summer long!

This dresser sold in 1 day for $120 on KSL.  It's the real thing with the old vintage drawer pulls and the four legs it sits on.  I really wanted to keep this piece....It's a good thing I don't have more space or I'd keep everything!!

Oh, I love those drawer pulls!!

{Vintage Sewing Table}

O-kay....I COMPLETELY fell in love with this little antique sewing table.  Oh, I wanted to keep it!!  But I parted with this piece knowing it was going to a good home to be enjoyed by a little girl as her bedside table.

Yep, it's an antique sewing table that opens up....all the secret little compartments to hide her toys.

This darling piece sold for $50

Antique White Distressed Dresser

Another piece I fell in love with!  I love all the detailing and curves.  This piece screams character.  Oh, and those claw feet....

Mmmmm...Need I say more?

I kept the original hardware on this piece because it went so well with the dresser and the look I wanted.  I just painted them the same color and sealed them with a poly spray.

This piece sold for $140.

Corner Hutch

I painted this hutch an off white color.  I was tempted to keep it right where it was and not sell it!  This piece sold for $120 on KSL.com.

I'm loving the color turqoise in all it's glorious shades....accenting a piece doesn't hurt in helping it sell a little quicker!

Two doors add some extra storage for kitchen linens.

{Turqoise 4 Drawer Chest}

I love this little piece.  Can I say 'love' too much?  I love the four legs it sits up on.  I love the color!

 I mismatched the knobs to add some vintage charm.

This piece sold real quick at $100.  These little vintage dressers are pretty popular!
