{Fowle's Dresser}

Before.......I loved the wood, curvy details, and sexy legs!  I knew this one was going to be really neat.

After....... I painted this a very light blue, (Yarmouth Blue from Benjamin Moore).  I've been reading from MANY people that Benjamin Moore paint is the best, well I believe it now!  Definately worth the cost!  Two coats is all it needed.  AWESOME!  I think I have a new love affair, Ben.

I had to put something white on there so you can tell what the color really is.  Otherwise it looks white!

Harlequin pattern drawer liner.  I buy really thick wrapping paper (Hobby Lobby) and lightly glue the back down.  It works really well.  I wasn't sure if it would rip and fall apart but so far it hasn't in my son's dresser. I repeat, son's dresser!

I distressed it and glazed it with Ralph Lauren Tobacco Glaze.

So much detail, this dresser is precious!

I kept the same vintage knobs.  It contrasts nicely off the light colored paint.  Plus they had sooo much character I HAD to use them.  And of course wood caster wheels, sigh!

I hope they like it!

  5. Amy, the closest place to buy it is at Allred's Ace Hardware in PG. It's about 60 bucks a gallon for the Aura kind- but sooooo worth it! I used hardly anything! I shoulda bought a quart cause I don't think I wanna paint 100 dressers that blue!

  13. I'm so glad that I found you! I'll stalk your blog for awhile, I'm sure Miss Mustard Seed could use the break from me :) Anyway Benjamin Moore is the very best its like painting with heavy whipping cream and all the others are like cool whip (just my opinion) I like how the Fowle's dresser turned out.

  15. It is sad that you painted this piece. All of the detail and different wood textures were lost.
