{My Dresser Makeover}

Before.  I'm all about lightening things up around here!  I don't know if it's spring fever or if I'm just SICK of everything in my house being black!!

After.  I painted this Swiss Coffee from Benjamin Moore.  Two coats is all it needed, I like that!  This dresser was actually my parents from way back when.  I am fortunate enough to have inherited it.  It's sturdy, It's heavy, and it's not going anywhere!

I really like the detail on the side.  Beadbaord from the 70's!

Those seashells are extra special.  My two daughters have been collecting them for years.  See, here in Utah, seashells are a precious commodity! (Especially to little 9 and 11 year olds.)

I added some vintgage glass knobs to two of the drawers to add some extra charm.  Now I have two more black pieces in my bedroom to paint.  My armoire and desk.  sigh.

  2. This looks as lovely in white as it did in black! I have some black bookcases that I think about painting...but I wonder if, come October, I'll want them black again!

    Your dresser looks great! I've got a new/old dresser coming to be in the next couple weeks, and I've been trying to figure out what to do with it.... I think I might copy you! ;)

  8. Came over from Market Monday to visit. I love your makeover to white. I feel the same way. My furniture isn't black, but it is dark and I want to convert everything over time to lighter brighter colors. I don't get very good light in my living and dining rooms, so I think I need to brighten it up by lightening it up. Thanks for giving me a visual. Great job ~ newest follower.
