{while I'm on my mustard yellow kick}

I bought this poster print at my thrift store.  Most of the time all I find is awesome 80's art, but sometimes I actually find something I kinda like.    It's titled 'Her Creative World' by Corinne Harley.

As luck would have it, there was an empty frame about a foot away from the painting that was the exact size I needed. Sometimes the stars in the heaven do line up. And while I'm on my mustard yellow kick, I decided it would be the perfect color to bring out the golden hues in the watercolor.

This will go in my daughter's room eventually, I just need to repaint the walls first.  I'm stumped on what color to paint it, but that's a whole other story!

Isn't she precious?

{A little Mustard Yellow to Brighten Your Day}

This sweet little thing was so fun to work on!  I love working on antiques, can I say that enough?!

It started like this, what is up with those knobs?  The guy I bought it from had some fancy name for them, like they were something special, who knows maybe they are.  All I know is they were butt ugly!

It was hard (once again) to get an accurate colored picture.  Why is that?  I swear I look at all your fabulous blogs from all you talented women, how do you photograph everything so well?!  I'm serious.  Well anyhoo, it's a mustard yellow in case you can't tell.

The knobs went into the garbage, hopefully I didn't just give anyone a heart attack.   In place I added my special glass knobs.   Maybe they were worth a lot, but I wasn't about to leave them on and find out...I think I'm the most impatient person I know.   I painted this Golden Bounty.  I'm pretty sure that's the name of it, I'm too lazy to get up and look in my garage.

After I painted and distressed it, I added some glaze. I felt like it needed something extra and to tone down the yellow a bit.

And if it wasn't cute enough (haha),  I added some fabric lining.

Look at this little keyhole.   How fun is that?

Another piece down, about 10 more to go.... who am I kidding it's never ending.  But I love it!

{French Kitchen Table and Chairs}

First I want to apologize for so many pictures....I think it might have something to do with the fact that I'm just too excited to post about this kitchen set, that I'm keeping!

If you can picture it, it started as this.  Sorry, once again I forgot to take a before shot of the entire set.  I blame it on pregnancy, wait a minute....that doesn't work, I'm not pregnant.  I'll think of something to blame it on here in a minute.  It reaked of smoke, yuck!  So unfortunately I had to buy new foam.  Foam is expensive.  70 bucks on foam was a bit of a buzz kill, seeing that I bought the entire set for 40!  Oh well, I had no choice, so I bit the bullet.  I do have to say the cushions are very comfortable, they better be for 70 bucks!!  Bye bye yucky, stinky, orange fabric.

And ta-da.  Magically It's all finished.  I wish it were that easy ;)  I painted it 'Antique White' from Behr.  I love the color, it's not too creamy yellow and it's not too bright white.  Perfect.  I spent a couple hours at Joann's picking out fabric, I think I am the most indecisive person I know!  My poor 9 year old about died!!  I wanted something dark because heaven knows we have lots of kids!  I didn't want all my hard work to be ruined in the first week with stains and spills.  Hopefully I picked a good one.
See, I'm still ho-humming about it!

So on with my picture roll, sorry if I bore you to death!

And there's my little man.  He's the biggest culprit of stains and spills.  Bless his sweet little heart.
